The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry strives for excellence in all its programs. We are seeking a teacher-scholar Assistant Professor (Chemistry and Biochemistry) to teach both foundational chemistry courses and advanced courses in their sub-discipline while developing an active, independent research program involving undergraduates in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Creighton University. 

This position is a tenure-track assistant professor appointment beginning in August 2023. A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry (or a closely related field) is required. The ideal person for this role is committed to being an outstanding teacher-scholar within a primarily undergraduate institution. 

Qualifications 

  • A Ph.D. in chemistry or biochemistry (or a closely related field) is required. 
  • Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision-making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations 
  • Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others

The candidate hired for this position will inherit a newly renovated (2022) research laboratory space and faculty office.
