The Department of Psychological Science within the College of Arts and Sciences at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Cognitive or Cognitive Neuroscience to begin August 2022. Preference will be given to candidates who will have completed all work towards a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field before August 2022.

The Department of Psychological Science is an undergraduate department with a 3-3 teaching load (fall-spring). The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Research Methods and Statistics, and Introductory Psychology. The successful candidate is expected to develop a productive program of research within their area of expertise that involves mentoring undergraduate students. The College seeks an outstanding teacher-scholar who will embrace our Jesuit, Catholic values; provide academic advising for students; and provide service to the department, college, university, and broader community.

Qualifications:

A Doctorate or Master's degree from an accredited college or university;

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs;

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations;

Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others;

Ability to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and/or significant publications
