Title - Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Recruitment
Overview - Provides leadership and oversight for academic success and recruitment in the College of Nursing (CON) on all campuses (Omaha, Grand Island, and Phoenix, AZ). Serves as the CON liaison to the office of enrollment management. Works collaboratively with the Academic Success Coordinator, and the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs in efforts for student academic success and recruitment.
Appointment and Term of Service - The Dean of the College of Nursing with the counsel of the Executive Committee, appoint the Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Recruitment.
I. Qualifications
A. Graduate degree required doctorate preferred.
B. Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in administrative operations management in a higher education institution.
C. Knowledge of College of Nursing programs and curriculum requirements and the discipline of nursing.
D. Successful advising experience and previous student services and administrative experience recommended.
E. Proficiency in the MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

III. Reporting Relationship
Role will report to Associate Dean of Operations
IV. Responsibilities
A. Administration
1. Provide oversight for the recruitment of students into undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, including collaboration with the Office of Enrollment Management.
2. Participate in campus (Omaha, Grand Island, and Phoenix) recruitment, admissions and registration events or activities as needed. Including organization of tours for prospective students in collaboration with faculty and staff.
3. As a staff member, will teach in the Ratio Studiorum Program in the College, including but not limited to advising, training and program development.
4. Generate, in cooperation with the leadership of the College of Nursing strategies for recruitment and retention.
5. Provide academic support to Creighton University nursing students across all campuses.
6. Counsel students in strategies to maximize study skills and overall class performance
7. Serve as advisor for five-year plan and transfer students.
8. Work to identify student needs and act in a referral capacity to the proper collaborative partner on campus.
9. Ensure reporting of student success to provide data regarding outcomes
10. Navigate the multiple systems for tracking of student success and to provide data outcomes assessment. These include but are not limited to Creighton Connect, Banner, database management systems, and Blueline.
11. Manage the Office of Academic Success in collaboration with the Academic Success Coordinator and Academic Success Coordinator-Phoenix
12. Support and act in capacity of Assistant Dean Student Affairs as needed.
B. Service
1. Engage in local, state, national and international professional service activities.
2. Engage in additional responsibilities and committee service as requested by the Dean.
V. Evaluation
A. The Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Recruitment performance evaluation is conducted every three years beginning Spring 2023 by the College of Nursing Faculty and with collaborating campus offices.
B. Results of the Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Recruitment performance evaluation are included by the Dean in the annual evaluation, and for consideration for continued appointment as Assistant Dean for Academic Success and Recruitment.
