Postdoctoral Research Fellow-Biomedical Sciences (JZ)
A postdoctoral scholar "postdoc" is an individual holding a doctoral degree who is engaged in a temporary and defined period, typically less than 5 years, of mentored research and/or advanced scholarly training for the purpose of acquiring the professional skills needed to pursue a career path of his/her choosing. Performs research under the supervision and mentorship of a more senior researcher, often called the postdoctoral advisor.
This position will support a Primary Investigator (PI) in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. The ideal candidate should have independent ability to investigate the drug development for cisplatin and noise induced hearing loss. Preference includes strong drug molecular and pharmacological expertise, medicinal chemistry background and strong independent skills and motivation.
This position is 100% grant funded.
This position will work Monday to Friday; 8am-4:30pm, depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.
Qualifications:
Doctorate Degree
1-3 years' experience; strong drug molecular and pharmacological expertise, medicinal chemistry background and strong independent skills and motivation preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong ability to interpret data and to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;
Strong work ethic;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work independently;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
